About this place

Natuurreservaat Étang de Launoy in Pont-à-Celles (bijna 10 ha), met twee bewegwijzerde wandelpaden langs een vroegere visvijver en rietkragen met veel vogels.

Refuge naturel de l'étang de Launoy emerged from groundwork for the Brussels–Charleroi Canal and was established in 1999 as a public green space. You walk here along two signposted trails — the sentier du Torcol and the sentier du Loriot — that loop around nine hectares, taking you past wooded areas, former fishing grounds, and small wetland zones. The site hosts a rich variety of bird species and insects, especially in the dead trees left standing after the 2010 storm. Dogs are welcome, there's plenty of shade, and entry is free.
